Bergamot Pure Essential Oil 10ml (PEO)

Historically, Bergamot was used by the Italians to cool and relieve fevers, protect against malaria expel intestinal worms. Bergamot is the most delicate of the citrus plants, requiring special climate and soil in order to thrive. Italians have used Bergamot for years to reduce feelings of stress and to soothe and rejuvenate skin. In Greece, the unripe fruits are used as sweetmeats, eaten with a dessert or with coffee. Bergamot is unique among citrus oils due to its ability to be both uplifting and calming, making it ideal to help with anxious and sad feelings. It also improves focus and mental clarity.  Bergamot has a purifying and cleansing effect for the skin. It is important that the Bergamot oil you use is furanocoumarin-free. Our Bergamot is furanocoumarin-free (FCF) and thus not phototoxic.

Blending : Bergamot blends well with other essential oils such as black pepper, clary sage, cypress, frankincense, geranium, jasmine, mandarin, nutmeg, orange, rosemary, sandalwood, vetiver and ylang-ylang

Massage : Bergamot oil can be used in a blended massage oil, or diluted in a bath to assist with stress, tension, SAD, PMS, skin problems, compulsive eating, postnatal depression, colds and flu, anxiety, depression, feeling fed-up and anorexia nervosa.
Diffusion : In burners and vaporisers, bergamot oil can be used for reducing depression, frustration, respiratory problems, colds and flu, PMS and SAD.

Safety : DO NOT ingest the oil. Possible skin sensitivity. Always do a patch test on a small area of skin. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas. In massage applications, blend with good quality coconut oil or other good quality carrier oils at a ratio of 3 to 5 drops essential oil to 1 tablespoon carrier oil. Keep in a dry cool place away from direct sunlight.
