In our workshops, we teach participants how to make beautifully designed candles that they would be so proud to use or display. Participants of our candle making workshops will use very special techniques which will require them to dig deep and pull out their creative side. We expect much discussion and inter-participant communication.

SHEA has been operating for many years and focus’ on skin care for those with sensitive skin and people who wish to reduce theirs and their family’s exposure to chemicals. We understand the importance of good, clean aromatherapy.

Basic Candle Making Workshop
Our basic candle making course takes about 90 minutes.
Participants will make one highly customised press-pattern multi-coloured candle which they would be proud of. They will use pure soy wax, metal free wicks and phthalate free fragrances in this workshop. All equipment, raw materials and packing materials are provided. Participants will get to take home one very special and unique candle.

Intermediate Candle Making Workshop
The intermediate course takes approximately 120 minutes.
Participants will make two candles. Participants will make one highly customised press-pattern multi-coloured candle and a magic candle which will change colour as the candle burns. They will use pure soy wax, metal free wicks and phthalate free fragrances in the workshop. All equipment, raw materials and packing materials are provided. Participants will get to take home two very special and unique candle.

To get the most of your candle, we recommend that it is left lit until an even pool of liquid wax forms on the full surface during the first light up. Place the candle in an area that has minimal draft. Also, to enjoy the beauty of the artwork and maximise the lantern like qualities of the jar, do clean the inside walls when the candle when it is cold.

Wax : Our candles are made with specially formulated premium grade soy wax which results in a clean and even burn.
Scents : We use premium quality IFRA certified phthalate free scents to create wonderful ambiences.
Jars : Our glass jars are extra thick and 100% recyclable and accepted by all recycling centres. They come with screw on covers which we feel are safer than pull off covers which could come off accidently during handling and sending the jar crashing down.
Wicks : We only use cotton based metal free wicks which we straighten and attach to the jar by hand
Burn Time : 120 to 140 hrs.

Fun Fact : As you know, roses come in many colours. These colours have different meanings.

Fully bloomed red- I still love you
Red rose buds- first love
Yellow- friendship
Peach- appreciation
Pink- elegance or gentility
White- unity, sincerity, loyalty and purity
Purple- majestic glory and eternal love
Deep purple- reserved for very intimate situations
Black- death
